Hi, I'm 18 and as long as I can remember I've had dark stomach hair from below my belly button. At first it bothered me a little so I shaved or waxed it, but it always grew in and so I tried bleaching it but the hair was too thick to actually turn blond and it just turned a wierd orange color so I'd have to shave it anyway. The problem is I'm extremely prone to ingrown hairs, and every time I shaved and it would look nice it would grow back in disgusting little bumps I'd pick at and then it would scar. So I went to electorlysis but that didn't do anything. Now I'm doing laser hair removal. I've been there three or four times and while it grows in in smaller amounts it's still dark and I still have the discoloration of past ingrown hairs (kind of like the scars from a scrape that eventually go away but for the time being are quite ugly) and as well they still come in ingrown. My concern is that I have a new boyfriend and I don't want him to be really grossed out; if I shave and wear cover up it isn't too bad but if I get more laser work it'll be pretty obvious something is up ( it turns red and a bit blotchy for about a week). If I tan it hides the scars but I need my skin to be light for the laser to work. All in all I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm at a loss. Any advice?

worry more about your body than your boyfriend if he's grossed out he isn't really into you when you have perfect smooth skin go tan and your confidence will be through the roof! hang in there and finish the laser treatments to get the hair gone! I had horrible ingrowns for years on the backs of my legs I didn't wear shorts in the summer =( But I sucked up another year and now no hair no ingrowns!
